Best of Flute Classics

To say that this book is packed with core repertoire and is competitively priced is to state the obvious, and you might expect there to be some compromises on a product that represents such good value. Perhaps there are some impossible page turns or the printing is cheap. Maybe the editorial markings are wide of the mark or the music is squashed into fewer pages. You would be wrong on every count. This is a high quality product from a mainstream publisher. The Bach and Handel are both urtext and with continuo parts and figured bass. The Mozart Andante has a full cadenza and is sensitively edited. All the other pieces look exactly as you would expect to find them. Both the flute and piano parts have blank pages to avoid unnecessary turns and the printing is excellent. Even if you own one or two of these pieces already this is a book still worth buying, but this would make a fantastic present for a talented young player aspiring to greater heights. Highly recommended - to state the obvious!
