Sarah Ovenden

I welcome students of all levels, from beginners to advanced.

I have a friendly and encouraging approach to teaching, and I will strive to get the very best out of your playing, no matter your ambitions.

I encourage all students to follow the graded-exam course and have a 100% pass rate for ABRSM and Trinity, including music theory examinations and diplomas beyond grade 8. I am also happy to teach those who prefer to play for fun with no pressure of exams. Many of my students play with youth orchestras, including the National Children’s Orchestra and National Schools’ Symphony Orchestra.

As a professional flautist, I play with the Waldegrave Ensemble and Duo Arthema. I also play with many orchestras and ensembles in the UK, and have played with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.
