I have taught woodwind instruments for over 40 years. I started as a bassoon teacher in the late 70s and soon took on general woodwind posts from 1984. I now play on all woodwinds but specialise as a bassoonist - experience includes BBCCO, RTE orchestras, Wren Orchestra of London, British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, Swansea City Opera, Theatre orchestra tours of West Side Story, Gypsy and 42nd Street on bsn, saxes and clarinets. I currently teach woodwinds for Durham Music Service and bassoon at Sage Gateshead CAT programme and regularly send students on to further education and music colleges. My lessons are both fun and challenging and I am always keen to extend the pupils' knowledge whether they are young or old. I enjoy writing music and have written several pieces for Junior windband, bassoon ensembles and various combinations of woodwind. I have 4 published works - Elgar Salut d'Amour and my own Five into Jazz (both multipacks) and 2 books of bassoon duets and beginner trios.
